Some additional bus services are to provided from 28 January that connect with
evening services arriving at Stanford le Hope railway station:
James
Duncan, Head of Passenger Transport at Thurrock Council has provided us with
the following information:
I'm glad to give more details of the rail connections from 28 January. Please
note that the current Service 22 (via Homesteads) is being renumbered as 200 by
First from the same date.
After 19.00, buses will leave Stanford Station at for Homesteads at 1908, 1938,
2014 and 2044 [Service 200, ex22] and for Corringham at 1908, 1928, 1948, 2014
(out via Homesteads but also serving Corringham, not Basildon), 2037, and 2044
(out via Homesteads but also serving Corringham, not Basildon) [Service 100].
These will provide connections to all parts of Homesteads/Corringham up and
including the 1950 from London.
We do hope that these additional journeys will be well used as they are fairly
expensive to provide; if, after trying them for some months, they do not carry
reasonable numbers, they will be withdrawn. We will, in January, be producing a
bus:rail connections timetable for Stanford, and would welcome any help that can
be given in promoting this new service.
Update:
** Following on from the c2c timetable fiasco, Thurrock Council and the
bus operators are working hard to ensure the bus timetables match with the 'old'
reinstated c2c train timetable from 28th. However, its not as straight forward
as it may seem - work rosters etc need to be reworked etc - and the Council
admit they are not confident they will manage to have all services switched for
the 28th **
